First Flight

-Little Fan-fiction here about my new Crow, Enjoy.-

Near an asteroid. belt in the Citadel region, a large Drake Class Heavy Battle Cruiser moved into position, underneath a small, compared to most ships, Crow Class Interceptor was attached, it was a new addition to Captain Rilders collection, fitted for low-security areas as a 'Tackler' or a ship designed to prevent another ships escaping. She was a nice little ship, he thought, or at least it better be for the amount of ISK it cost him, which was small in comparison but was still allot to his tight wallet he held...

"Were in position, Sir," his first officer announced over communications, he was a good man, a survivor from the Disaster at Dodixie which had cost several thousand lives between the ships lost, around 1600 being from his own ship lost, the Warhammer.

"Roger that, beginning start-up sequence," he messaged over from his pod, which was in the Crow, the Drake, named Warhammer B after the lost Warhammer, was being manned by his bridge crew at the moment.

The crow shook a bit as the engines, reactor and subsystems came to life, the reactor consumed fuel like a mad man as the the engines were "pedaled to the medal" to heat themselves up, a more difficult task in space due to the rather cold environment. The ship calmed down and then slowed to an idle, typically a ship would be started in station assisted by machinery, but in space you don't have those luxuries and Rilder wanted to test the ship to the extremes in a controlled environment, lest he have to try them alone with enemies hunting.

"All system appear go, Captain, looks like we didn't blow up after all, guess I owe you 10 isk."

"Hah, Commander, but we aren't done yet, make sure the docking clamps are secure, lets see how much thrust this Micro Warp-drive can throw out," Rilder finished, it was a bit of friendly banter, but this was freelance ship not a navy ship and as such Rilder didn't treat his crew as a Navy crew all the time, but in the heat of battle they were expected to be professional at all times, as any Captain should treat there crews. A few minutess later the first officer chimed in that the docking clamps were as about as secure as they could possibly be so Rilder prepared for full burn.

The small interceptor, designed for speed, not tugging Battle Cruisers, but the two slowly picked up speed, even with the 'MWD,' as they called the Micro-Warp-drive, offline. After holding full burn for a bit Rilder activated the MWD. The engine burned even hotter as the interceptor strained against the Drake begging for more speed, the docking clamps holding desperately on, though both ships moved it wasn't as much as a MWD equipped crow would alone, and in fear of breaking the clamps the engines were pulled back after a 10 second burn, both ships inertia thrusters were brought on and both ships came to a halt.

"Dang, Captain you haven't blown up yet, were having to much good luck something has to happen."

"Nah, Commander, that's not until I'm in the heat of battle, its one of those 'Oh Shit' moments added to every battle to add dramatic effect."

"Ah, yes the favored, 'Oh shit' moment, damn it Captain I hate when you randomly say that in battle just to scare the hell out of us."

"Yep, its my way of desensitizing you all for when the real 'oh shit' moments come, anyways break me off time to see how fast this baby can really go."

"Yes, Captain, retracting docking clamps, have fun."

"Will do, Commander."

With that the the Crow Class Interceptor broke free and surged ahead, MWD activating and pushing the small ship to almost 5000 Meters per second, G-forces were extreme and even in his pod they were felt, with every implant being felt in Rilders body, an uneasy feeling to Rilder, and allot took a Pod-pilot to feel uneasy. For the next hours the ship performed tests of all types, from weapons to maneuvering to even scanning, and warp drive testing, before returning to base to make adjustments and to remove the docking clamps from the Warhammer B which had been specially added for the tests...

The Bloodthirst was ready.
